Not sure if I'd call it a micro masterpiece, but definitely the best version of the character that we've gotten.
What a time to be alive... Now if only I could find this.
I need to find this guy too
Oh man, now I need to get another Ironhide
He looks so bland. Thank Primus for Siege!
Because ss 86 is meant to look like the cell shaded cartoon characters
That doesn't mean they look *good*.
Not everyone wants transformers to perpetually look like an almost 40 year old cartoon.
I'm gonna get hate for this but I think G1 Ironhide is the worst rendition of the character. He's so bland...
I agree with not everything needs to look G1, But this line specifically is literally G1. I'm a Unicron trilogy and Bayverse fan because I love new takes of characters.
I just don't like leaving out detail to try and match a 22 minute toy commercial
You gotta keep in mind that every figure has to keep inside whatever budget they are giving. Ironhide's plastic quality alone likely eats up most of that. The extra yellow line evidently couldn't make it in there.
Also every aspect of Transformers is a toy commercial. Except that one time with Transformers Prime. It's all there to sell merch
I think it's time we move past just being a toy commercial.
And I don't think him being made of large parts transparent plastic justifies him being sold for voyager price. Seeing as he's shorter than Seige who was a deluxe.
At least Hot Rod came with some accessories and blast effects.
Maybe but that's for Hasbro to decide not this niche subreddit of fans on varying opinions on what transformers should be. Me personally I care more about the scale of my figures from character to character. Like I don't want my Ironhide to be the same height as my Optimus, y'know? I splurged on Studio Series Starscream and I was so bothered on how he was the tallest character I had so I sold him like 2 weeks later.
I'm not a scale nut. I just think it's scummy of Hasbro to try and pass off a figure that only a couple years ago would have been sold at deluxe price as a Voyager. Especially since unlike Hot Rod, Ironhide is half transparent plastic and only comes with two dinky pistols. They didn't even add the yellow stripe.
Correct me if I'm wrong as I don't have SS86 Ironhide but I do have SS86 Hot Rod. But I'm pretty sure this Ironhide, while about as tall, is considerably thicker than Hot Rod. He definitely looks a lot heftier. And his engineering definitely looks more complicated. What I find most ironic is that a lot of the same people who say Hasbro charging an extra 10 for the next scale class is scummy, and then blow $300 on an overpriced 3rd party covered in lead paint.
