You lose 20 points for a Wave 1 defeat and 10 points for a Wave 2 defeat. A Wave 3 defeat is neutral and doesn't affect your rank. If a player leaves, the penalty for the remainder of the players is halved. You will drop your current rank if you go below 0 so if you are at Profresh +2 10 a Wave 1 defeat will drop you to Profresh +1 40 and a Wave 2 defeat will have you clinging on at Profresh +2 0.

Wait what? I you rank down you lose ADDITIONAL rank points for no good reason?

Jay_RPGee

You also gain additional rank points for "no good reason". When you reach a new rank (either by promotion or demotion), you are placed at 40/99. This gives you the space you need to prove you deserve to remain in this rank or be promoted, and ensures you won't be demoted again after a single loss. The points after the rank are not relevant to your skill level until you reach Eggsecutive VP, they are just a way to keep track of when you will be promoted or demoted. In other words, you're not really losing additional rank points because the points themselves are not your rank until you reach VP, the ranks are the ranks.

I wish the game would explain this directly.

Moochii51

If you mean how much rank you lose upon losing, it depends on which wave you lost on. Wave 1 = -20 Wave 2 = -10 Wave 3 = None If a player disconnects, the amount you lose is cut in half, meaning you lose 10 rank if on wave one, and 5 rank if on wave 2.

Thank you!

Gargomon251

That's not true, I just went from PF+2 10 to PF+1 40 in a single match

Moochii51

I haven't heard of losing 40 in one match. send a pic of your recent matches, I haven't seen nor heard of something like that occuring

Gargomon251

The other comments already explained it. If you rank up or rank down in salmon run, it automatically jumps to 40 of whatever rank you just changed to.
