Worth hitting tomorrow? Been out of town a couple weeks, not sure which mountain has the best coverage now
I was only there because my kids were desperate to try it out. I’d probably go to any other place tbh, but I’m not sure who got what.
Was it really that bad to recommend anywhere else?
Hmm perhaps because BC closes soon (lack of snow this time of year) or just a lot of terrain closed…
No, it wasn’t bad. It’s just that I think BC is lower altitude than everywhere else and the conditions are likely better at the higher spots. The couple of spots that I was one that had been groomed at all were ICY. The 5” of powder was great, though, to be sure.
But what about the fresh cookies?
Haha downvoted for fresh baked cookies? Y'all crazy
Was there 2 weeks ago, got fresh cookies at 3PM
None in sight. 😬
I wonder if they stopped doing it during the pandemic
they do have the cookies still. i got them yesterday (sunday) when i was heading out near closing time.
Supposed to get more, like another 6" or 7", Monday night or Tuesday I think.
Sadly Grouse, larkspur, bachelor gulch and arrowhead are closed for the year but they're projecting 10 inches of snow for Tuesday so birds of prey and rose bowl should be really nice
So bummed that Crested Butte is closed :(
how was it unexpected? i70 this morning was a parking lot because of the new snow
Forecasted at 1” for most spots, ended up being closer to 6” in a lot of spots
Not what I saw. OpenSnow even said 4-5” with 6”+ In places yesterday
When I looked last night I thought it said a 10% chance of rain. Decided to drive up anyway because I had a day left in the epic daily pass.
Damn, now I wish I had gone :/
Not me. It was a little dusty from vail pass on, but I was EARLY
Today was great! 5” at Vail and powder all morning. Just enough to cover up a few of the bare spots
I’d bet it was nice over there. Did you get to the back bowls? How were they?
Back bowls are overrated.
I know, that’s why everyone I love leave me.
Barely bottom buckle
I went there for the first time today as well and that was the most powder I’ve seen at any resort all season. (I’ve only made it out about 3 or 4 times this year)
I didn’t wait in a single lift line today either. Made the day super fun with my kids.
Shh, don't make this public knowledge. 🤣
I don’t think there’s much danger there. You have to pass so many other great spots to get there, then it’s pretty expensive. But I hear you. 😁
Where do you like to go in BC during powder days?
I can’t really say. It’s the first time I’ve been here in 15 years and I was with my (beginner/intermediate) kids. We spent a lot of time at McCoy Park, which was great for them and still fun for me.
Back in 92 when I was a liftie I skied out to cross rock via the two elk gate which was side country at the time, it was a record year with 459 inches
That sounds like heaven thanks for sharing
Say what you want about any other place, but Beaver Creek is just fun and mellow. Great hill.
Next two days could be LARGE
I probably can't get back up to the mountains until Sunday. Will probably be back at ABasin then. I'm hoping for good snow still.
You and every other Texan.
I’ve never even been to Texas in my 46 years
Do you love I-70?
If you leave early enough (both morning and afternoon), it’s not awful. But it’s also the worst part.
Front strangers are the worst.
They think they are local, until they forget they have to drive 2 hours home.
Thank you for yet another constructive, helpful and friendly post.
