you probably know mike curtis. i took a class about henry george from him once many years ago.
i saw the bonsai collection there around 1976, and i'm told some of the pieces are pretty much unchanged.
I do bonsai. There are many cultivars of Satsuki azalea that give different colored flowers. One example is [Tama no Hada](https://www.monrovia.com/tama-no-hada-azalea-41849.html)
I'm pretty good with plants, but bonsai is tough! It takes a lot of dedication. My 10 year old bought one and it lasted maybe 2 months. The roots are so shallow, you really have to pay attention to it.
you can make them, start with young stock. i'm killing orchids mostly lately. i once looked into buying 35 acres of desert in colorado that had 400 year old bushes on it.
This is absolutely gorgeous!
Longwood Gardens is a great place to go. Such a beautiful plant.
I know! I used to work there. It was a really nice place to be all day.
I grew up a mile away from Longwood Gardens. I am very grateful for it, Longwood is such a magical place! All year round!

Where is it?
Kennett Square, Pennsylvania
Yesss and their Christmas displays are amazing
Gorgeous! How come the flowers are different colours? Is it normal for azaleas?
I don't really know. Maybe because it's a hybrid?
It’s grafted, only way you’re going to get two different colors is through grafting.

Ah, interesting, I stand corrected
Ah, that makes sense. Thank you!
Some trees in this family will grow white flowers on areas that have been pruned or damaged
Holy moly. This might be the most beautiful ones I’ve ever seen.
Oh my God what a beautiful azalea bonsai I love it
This is sooo beautiful
Beautiful! I can’t keep any azaleas alive, they always just turn completely brown.
Audibly said “dayum” as I was scrolling.
DITTO here lol.
I did too! Is this a sign we're officially "old"?
Lol. I’m ok with it. Less stressful than my thirsty 20s
amazing bonsai, post a copy also at r/rhododendron
I want to make one
I've always wanted a bonsai tree but I'm certain I would kill it and when it's older than I am, that makes me feel real bad haha. This is stunning
