I loved this album but I honestly think it’s one of the most depressing things I’ve ever listened to. It really hit me hard when I was younger and I have a hard time listening to it.
I'm with you. I love the album, but I can't listen to it frequently. I have to be in the right mood for it, otherwise it will wreck my day and have me questioning life a bit too much.
It's"Dirt" perhaps the best album by Alice in Chains. I highly recommend you give it a listen. Haunting vocals backed by the guitar work of Jerry Cantrell.
Would? will forever hold a special place in my heart ❤️
I can listen to down in a hole over and over and over again.
As a former addict, I can’t really ever listen to down in a hole anymore. It’s too much
Definitely super relatable, Jerry is one of the best songwriters to ever live
This album is a life changing journey of beautiful and haunting Melodies
How fun heroin must be?
It’s meant to do the opposite actually
For people that take everything literally, a line like, "stick your arm for some fun," may not be the clearest message.
Same song also says “can’t get high or you will die,” and that is a pretty clear warning
That's what hit me, the whole album is like a cry for help. Especially Junkhead and Dirt. RIP, Layne Staley
The album is hauntingly beautiful
INTO THE FLOOD AGAIN
Same old trip it was back then
SO I MADE A BIG MISTAKE
Try to see it once my waaaaaaaaaaayheeeeyyyy!

It's depressing but not quite as depressing as jar of flies

Totally agree
Jerry is the GOAT songwriter in my book.
YOU USE YOUR TALENT to dig me under and cover me with dirt
A bit depressing, makes one wonder if Layne was having suicidal thoughts.
Yep. Even more apparent in Mad Season.
New to the genre. What album is this?
Damn I'd be pumped to hear this album for the first time again. In for a treat
Dirt by Alice in Chains, it's their best album and one of the best grunge albums of all time in general, highly recommend it.

It’s one of the greatest albums ever recorded
Dirt by Alice in chains
omg
Makes me wonder when it will end
Best album
As a teenager I would’ve resonated more with the lyrics, now I admire them still but I definitely am in tune with the music and how amazing it is
