For anyone who doesn't know this is the painting Salome by Henri Regnault
The second painting is Madame Auguste Cuoq by Gustave Courbet.
I don’t remember seeing the second painting in the show, is it in the intro?
[At about the 0:33-:34 mark in this version.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zd2Prf-D-_8)
It shoes for a split second, I hadn’t registered it. Thank you!
Oh wow, I wouldn’t have guessed that was a Courbet at all.
As an art history major and long term photoshoppist, the title cards to this show always make me giggle & swoon
So are all of them taken from other works? if so it would be cool to catalog them.
I came across [this](https://imgur.com/gallery/FvkuSZ3) link a while back, someone else posted it downthread. A fun deep dive, even into the photo references for the newer 20th century stuff.
You’re dead you’re dead you’re dead and out of this world
I got a bunch of postcards of her when I was there! Unexpected WWDITS!
Its funny, the original looks like its poorly photoshopped and the Nadja version looks real.
Really makes you wonder…
Thank you for posting this, I’m going there in a few days and I would have totally missed it.
They’re prominently displayed towards the entrance of the 19th century European painting gallery! (Have fun — it’s one of my favorite places in the world.)
me three =)
Nadjas mad at me. Sorry for doing my job!
Funny, I was thee on Monday, too, and was going to make the same post you did. I literally laughed out loud when I turned the corner and saw her. Made me want to go hunt for the others. Have you seen any of the other WWDITS paintings there besides Nadia/Salome?
Here is a link to other pieces, not sure where they currently hang though...
Thanks this is great
