I was going to say, this wasn’t yesterday, he did a jump in June for the 75th anniversary of D-Day. But it looks like be did it again 7 days ago. Badass.
That's nuts.

Yup, bonkers. :)
yes, during Operation Falcon Leap, some more info and a recap video can be found here:

I get the feeling he was one of those guys who missed the landing zone during D-Day and ended up capturing a whole platoon of Germans all by himself. 🇺🇸
Why would that be your ''feeling'', is this your brain on Hollywood/videogames and you need to envision the lone superhero soldier leading the charge at 18? Are the average <20 year olds led into combat by their superiors and dying by the tens of thousands any lesser?

I saw him in Normandy. He jumped into Normandy over the 82nd AB DZ. I missed it because I was watching the British jump near Caen, which occurred at the same time. I did see a British vet jump. I ran into Thom later when he stopped by my bnb, at a former German gun battery and home to re-enactment camp. He was coming up the stairs as I was going down, sadly I didn't quite know who he was and wasn't able to talk to him.
Since the liberation started now exactly 75 years ago, the coming year will be full of all kinds of memorials and festivities throughout the entire Europe continent. Can’t possibly visit them all sadly
I think he was. The years I've been there there is always a big parachute drop near Ste-Mere-Eglise typically performed by paratroopers from the US military as well as other countries. SME would be the 82nd area of ops. I do believe this is where Thom Rice jumped, I'm annoyed I missed it (not that the British drop wasn't neat).
Gory Gory Gory what a hell of way to die!!!

I can't dismount a Humvee without feeling like my knees are about to explode, but this dude's 98 and jumping out of planes? That's a hard motherfucker right there.
In related news I fell down in the shower and had to take a day off of work and will soon be expected to head on up to HR and explain how come I don't have a doctor's excuse and how come I didn't go to the doctor and how come I don't have insurance, and how come I didn't sign up for the insurance my company provides, and how come I'd prefer to eat and have me a roof as opposed to having me insurance and a doctor, and how come some people end up shooting up their places of work.
(that last bit's a bit of hyperbole, I don't even shoot up dope)

Interesting username considering you’re probably never invited to parties.
This dude is the Reddit embodiment of /r/justbootthings
I agree, this dude fantasizing about this old man ''capturing a whole platoon of Germans all by himself'' is a bit much.

It's just the Medal of Honor and you don't win it, you receive it. It's not a contest. Lines from a movie maybe, but still true.
You must be fun. Jesus christ dude.

Look at that face! He might need a bit of elbow support at 98,but that's the face of a man you don't want to mess with now,let alone back then.

I looked at this pic and my lifetime supply of salt had been replenished and my eyes burn just looking at this hardcharger.
Looks like he's about to give the photographer the same treatment he gave the Nazis back in the day.
