I was actually coming here to post a request! I’m looking for the marriage announcement of Thomas Turner Jr. and Elizabeth Nolan, I think — I believe it’s in this edition of the [Atlanta Constitution ](https://www.newspapers.com/newspage/397909227/), but I can’t see it.
Here you go! [https://imgur.com/a/VRGF7nj](https://imgur.com/a/VRGF7nj)
Wow, that was fast — thank you so much!
It was the biggest announcement on the page! Not hard to find! I enjoyed it No worries at all!
Yes please! I have a Newspaper’s subscription and can’t find my article! Would love to get some help! There was a note in one of the Connecticut papers in the late 1800s / early 1900s that mentioned something about a Burke looking for work, and anyone interested to enquire with another Burke. The names may have been Daniel, William, Thomas or Michael. I saw it and ignored it because I didn’t think it was my family- only to learn a few months later that it was. And now I can’t find the article! Thank you!!
Do you know the town and time frame it may have happened in?
Norwich, Naugatuck or nearby, and it was probably between 1860 and 1900. Thank you! I’ve been going crazy looking for it- it would help find a missing ancestor and help place a lot of DNA matches!
On newspapers Norwich only has 1909 and later!
Naugatuck has 1897 to 1900!
Ahh. I'm going to go mad trying to figure out where i saw that! Thank you for checking!
Do you remember anything about what the article said? If I had a complete line from the article word for word I might help find it faster!
I would like to take you up on that.
My great-grandfather's name is **Albert H. Russel**l, born on 15 April 1882 in Brooklyn, NY and he married a woman named **Marion Adlum**, my great-grandmother, also born in Brooklyn. All I have is the year 1881/1882 for her year of birth. So, I have not been able to find any marriage records or death records for either of them. They would have married around 1900-1902 because my great-aunt was born in 1903. I can't even find records on who Marion's parents were, except for a guy named **Patrick Adlum**, who may or may not be her father. Albert's father's name was **Thomas Benjamin Russel**l and his mother's name was **Mary Anne Fitzgerald**.
Marion was also referred sometimes as **Bridget Adlum** as I found a record in FamilySearch, but could not actually confirm it was her.
Supposedly, both of my great-grandparents died in 1955, he in May and she in July. I still can't locate any record of that.
I have searched several NY and Brooklyn papers through the Brooklyn Library and cannot find anything. I have searched Ancestry more times than I can count. Also, FamilySearch and MyHeritage and nothing.
So, if you could find any newspaper article for a marriage or an obituary it would help me out so much.
I’m not OP, but I saw your note. I searched newspapers.com and nyshistoricalnewspapers, and found nothing on either site. All I located was a genii site that you probably know about, that was last updated in 2016. Brooklyn can be so difficult. I’m looking for a great aunt’s obit from Brooklyn in the 50s as well, and it’s been a no-win so far for me too.
Thank you so much for trying. I know searching in Brooklyn can be a bear to find stuff, so I appreciate you taking the time to make an effort. Have a wonderful evening. 😊
I found that she is Marion Bridget Adlum, daughter of Patrick and Mary Adlum. Mary died of pneumonia in 1884, when Marion was 12. Her older sisters were Margaret and Catherine and are named with ages in the doc. There is a page before and after this. I found this on Ancestry in NY Wills [https://www.ancestry.com/discoveryui-content/view/13017267:8800?tid=&pid=&queryId=b20167ffdfeb3a2f7fbc33c42b7f441e&\_phsrc=MGO1041&\_phstart=successSource](https://www.ancestry.com/discoveryui-content/view/13017267:8800?tid=&pid=&queryId=b20167ffdfeb3a2f7fbc33c42b7f441e&_phsrc=MGO1041&_phstart=successSource)
Now, this I did not see in my searches on Ancestry, so I am excited by this. Thank you.
Nice find, /u/swede-heart51
I apologize for not stating in my post that I have an Ancestry account and I have seen that tree, but I am very grateful for you taking the time to check.
This is them on the 1880 census- parents born in Ireland
>Interesting that his daughter, Adelaide, was listed as person who will always know his address, on his WWII draft registration card (versus his wife). Was his wife deceased at that time (possibly?) April 1942.
I noticed that too when I attached the card to my great-grandfather's record on my tree, and the only thing I can think of is that it's possible that his wife was not of a full mind and Adelaide took care of business records.
I know that my great-grandmother was still alive in 1942 as my mom wrote out about 10 pages of her life before she stopped writing on it and she talked a lot about her grandparents as they lived with them for a bit before moving next door to them in Brooklyn.
One incident she recalled was during an air raid alert where they had to shut off all the lights and be quiet. Apparently, there was a rather loud discussion going on about something in their apartment and they got yelled at by the warden for making so much noise. LOL
It's why I was looking for a newspaper bit about there possibly being an obituary on Newspapers dot com as even though my great-grandparents both died in 1955, I have yet to find anything to verify the date of Marion's death. Nothing comes up on a search on Ancestry or Family Search.
Publication: The Courier-News Location: Bridgewater, New Jersey Issue Date: Thursday, December 5, 1935 Page: Page 19
Thank you so much!
Is this what you're looking for?
There were two copies of the newspaper! Let me know!
Yes thank you!!!
I’m looking for an obituary for John O’Leary in Buffalo, NY. He died either June 28 or 29, 1940.
You’re the best! Thank you! 🙏
If you are still taking requests, I would really appreciate it if you could take a look whether you could find any newspaper articles on William Kolsch, born 1870 in Germany, married to Mary Knake on Dec 18th 1900 in Otoe County, Nebraska and died 15th Sep 1957 in Otoe County, Nebraska, USA.
Some trees on Ancestry have his birthdate as Nov 21st 1870 but no sources attached. I am trying to find a state-side source that confirms his birth date. I suspect there is an obituary or something out there.
I'm not OP, but helping out. His obituary confirms that date: https://i.imgur.com/uIcap0H.jpg
Source: Auburn Press-Tribune (Auburn, Nebraska), 24 Sep 1957, Tuesday, Page 10.
Also, I'm not sure if this was him, but I found this event from 1927 too: https://i.imgur.com/OcDqj62.jpg. It's from a historical section noted as 30 years prior, so if Kolsch was in Brock, Nebraska at the time it might be him. It's only on the left column, I kept the whole image because of the header. There were other men named William Kolsch in the area too, so I can't say for certain.
His obituary says he farmed near Talmage, Nebraska until 1931, and according to Google Maps, Brock is eight miles away from there by road. That cyclone hit in 1927.
Source: Nemaha County Herald (Auburn, Nebraska), 30 Aug 1957, Friday, Page 8.
Thank you so much! <3
When I get back home I’ll take a look for you!
Obit for Dora Mary Kolsch. Her obit verifies William's death date (not the birth date you need)

I'm assuming you don't have this (maybe you do). This is William's son, John. There is also a notice June 19, 1949, where John and his wife filed divorce proceedings on the same day. John's was used since he filed first. His statement declares she had struck him on the head previously with a broom stick. They had not been married long. I can get that if you need it.
Son John's death notice. I'm not surprised as I found a quirky June 1949 notice he took out saying (basically) he was responsible only for his own personal debts. I continued to search after seeing that notice. (now I know it is probably related to the divorce filings)

If you are still taking requests I have one.
I’m not sure if birth announcements were a thing at this point in time but I am looking for anything on a Leota Shaffer, born in 1917 in Toledo, Ohio.
Or anything regarding the Lewis County Children’s Home (in Ohio) around the same time frame.
I keep running into a potential birth announcement for a Leoto Shaffer which I believe is a typo but I do not have access to see.
Leota is my great grandmother, who was placed in the home as a baby. I’m sure it’s a long shot but thought I would see!
Sorry but unfortunately they only have papers up to 1902 and nothing after! Not sure how to proceed?
Thank you for checking!
I have unfortunately little to no information on these events in my family tree. I just know where and what her biological birth name was.
I really appreciate you taking a moment to see if there was anything there
Can you send me a link to the potential birth announcement that way I have something to start with?
I’m trying to find anything on Margaret E Moore who gave birth in 1932 in Bradford, Yorkshire UK. I have exhausted everything on ancestry including various
Margaret Moores born around the same time. She was born somewhere between 1911 and 1916 so was possibly very young and unwed…. I’m trying to figure out how she ended up in Bradford, or what happened to unwed mothers in that era.
Also I can’t find many records of these people, all born in Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire, UK
- Joan Woolrich, nee Madeley. B 1934. Husband Stuart, daughter Gail. Hoping for a funeral notice as someone else has her death as 2013 with no source. Husband’s death was 2000 in Staffordshire. 2 other siblings had funeral notices which was very helpful in establishing we have the right family.
(Named removed) b 1952. She has most definitely passed as she predeceased her parents but I cannot find a funeral notice or record. There’s one in the area who passed in 2005, there’s also a marriage record to a Lilliam A Hulme. (Assuming that means William)
These are to help an adopted person find their birth father so any help would be greatly appreciated.
Online in that city s only up to 1875! Sorry but not sure i can help you!
That’s ok - your post motivated me to cast my net wider and I found out one was murdered including newspaper stories on it.
I’m looking for an article written in the Bismarck ND newspaper about “Brauche”. Let me find the exact date.
Date: February16, 1982
Author: Stan Stelter
Thats the most pages ive had to look through! Im used to about 15 to 20 pages in Canadian papers not 108 pages! thanks for a fun time
Whoa! 108 pages?!
I’m having a hard time reading it. Very blurry when I zoom in to read. Is it possible just to screenshot the article without the advertisements? Maybe it will be clearer.
The source scan itself is somewhat blurry. But if you go to that imgur link and right-click the image, then open it in a new tab, it is much larger and easier to read there.
That worked! Thank you!
I will try that. I know newspapers can be blurry
Sorry about that I thought it was clear! I’ll try better next time!
Oh! Once I clicked on the image I could read it
If you are still looking to do some I'm looking for any information about the Sill family in Monroe County, Ohio, 1820-1840. Specifically a Samuel and Hannah (nee Lawrence) Sill. I have tax records indicating he was one of the first settlers in Center City, and owned land in Malaga as well. Samuel died in 1839 and I'd love to find an obituary.
If you are still taking requests, this might be a long shot, but I’m looking for anything regarding a Carl or Karl Ketelsen around 1925 in Los Angeles. He disappears from our family history around that time and his wife, my great grandmother refused to discuss it before her death. We never found evidence that he died, but also the last time I can find him anywhere is when their youngest son was born in 1922. A few years later his wife moved to Nebraska with her four sons. Karl was born Germany in 1887 and arrived in the US in 1908, his wife’s name was Bertha.
Hi! I'm looking for anything about Jacob Schrouder. He was hit by a car and died in Southern California.
I wish I had a little more particulars to know if I have the correct person but I located a Jacob Schrouder, age 74, a grocer having been killed in 1938 by auto accident Wilmington in the Los Angeles area Source: Wilimington Daily Press Journal (Wilimington, California) 5 Aug 1938, Fri Page 1
[Jacob Schrouder Death Notice](https://imgur.com/a/aivXtM9)
Ironically, there was a new address change (small) article on April 27 of 1938 for Jacob Schrouder and his wife. Formerly of 118 Opp street to 1025 Island avenue where they had moved the week before.
Edit: Additional Personal Interest Newspaper Article Source: Wilmington Daily Press Journal Wilmington, California 28 Feb 1934 Wed Page 2

This is him! Thank you so much. I've only read his obituary, so these two articles are really interesting to me.
If you're able to find anything else, like in Denver papers, I'd be thrilled, but no pressure! Thanks again.
Hoping to find an obituary for my great aunt Minnie Mae Sykes Meachum, she was originally from Johnson County Arkansas, lived in Detroit Michigan then remarried and moved to Hollywood Florida. All we know is that she was alive in 1974, living in FL. We believe she was born around 1910. Any tips appreciated.
>Minnie Mae Sykes Meachum
I wish I had spousal information but I didn't find much in Florida. I did find an obituary for a Minnie Meachum-White in 1994 in California. You may recall the severe fire that destroyed most of Paradise in 2018 (My niece use to live next door in Chico) This is just a little extra history bonus. I sure hope this is the Minni Meachum (born circa 1910) that you are looking for. She died in August 1994 I hope to hear if this is the correct Minnie Meachum. I may really be off on this one. My gut feeling tells me it might be. However, she was born in 1910. Doesn't mention Florida residence and she's in the lower west of the US versus lower east side of US. And Red Bluff might be in Arkansas?

[Minnie Meachum-White 1994 Death Notice California](https://imgur.com/a/MoVJslH)
Roy Raymond Meachum died age 67 in a hospital in 1968. He was born in Russellville, Kentucky in April 17, 1901. Only wife listed as survivor (no children) He was a retired machinist. Obit in the Dec 27, 1968 edition of Paradise Post.
Edit: I'm now seeing a family tree on ancestry .com and it appears that Minnie's parents died in Chico. I wonder if Hollywood Florida (there is such a place) was meant to be Hollywood, California since its not that far. It appears no one was in the entertainment business but they were out there when the movies started rolling in the 1910's. William Lee's obit indicates when in died 1955 he had been in Chico since 1912. His obit has some good days and locations where he lived prior to Chico.
Thank you so much, I really appreciate this. However it's not my aunt :-( I'm looking for a needle in a haystack. My Minnie Mae was born daughter of James Oscar Sykes and Emma Hadley Sykes of Johnson Co. AR, then married John Meachum, lived in Detroit MI and after she was widowed married again and moved to Florida. All we know if that she was alive in 1974 and living in FL.
Unfortunately she's been a mystery for us for a long time. You are an angel for helping people. Best wishes to you.
Ive got a request
Here you go!
I have a couple more
Here you go! Let me know if I clipped those right!
Can you look up Walter F Busfield in Bradford Massachusetts? However the article is about Suzanne Busfield. (it's linked to Walter on Ancestry).
Heres the ancestry link if that helps
If I explained horribly can you look up Walter's obituary from Haverhill Massachusetts?
Can you let me know if this is him? It’s the only William Busfield I could find! Hit me back if it’s not!
PS sorry the bottoms a little blurry it wouldn’t load and clear correctly for me!
Ya that’s him!
I also found this and wasn’t sure if you had or wanted this it’s a marriage announcement for Suzanne!
Yup this was what I was looking for!
Here you go!
