*I know you're here, Xur, you big fucking nerd. Where's my goddamn Skullfort?*
Fun fact: Xur has never once sold a random roll Skullfort. He sold it a couple times before Armor 2.0 came out, but never since. I check every week and never fail to be disappointed.
I still have that Skullfort with heavy ammo finder and that melee kills grant super energy perk built in.
I still have it too! It's too good a roll to not use.
Honestly I still use that one most of the time. I *finally* got one to drop from a random engram and the roll was pretty garbage.
I miss that roll, I stupidly deleted it when armor 2.0 came out.
Xur doesn’t even live here, you crazy drunk asshole. He’s not even a member of the Avengers.
*in your bum*
Have you checked your butt hole? Skiddum, baddum, butt hole!
What a fantastic video! I’ve watched it so many times now.
He's so charismatic, it's mesmerizing!
Great, now it's going to be stuck in my head all day!
I brought these gifts for you there upinmybum.
Get the AR if you plan to do GMs this season
Why get this particular roll? Just curious why it would be good in GMs.
Barrier AR is a mod this season, vorpal works on champions (plus add a major mod for even more damage) and auto loading helps with the most annoying part of barrier ar - the constant reloading. You can pop the shield switch to special and come back to pop the shield again seamlessly
Ah good call, that point about the reloading makes sense.
Yea in general it’s a meh roll but has a niche use for GMs when there’s AR mods
Newb here's what's a gm?
Edit: thank you everyone
Grand Master nighfalls, raids or lost sectors basically hard mode of end game activity with some suped up yellow bar enemies called champions... Don't worry the game does nothing to teach you about them but there is info on this sub about it and the mods and on the Steam guides section and all of YouTube. Once you get to a higher level 1300+ then you can start to worry about that stuff.
I'm getting there, just reached 1290.
I'm not really a newb, but I just started playing again after a few years.
Thanks for the explanation
Yeah I recently returned after not playing since some time after forsaken during one of the really shit dlc seasons... And some of the new currencies, mods and whatever was very overwhelming at first and I do feel a lot of things have extortionate resources needed to obtain for newer and returning players like the exotics in the lost light section! Don't know why half of those couldn't have gone into engrams and xur or kept their quests.
GrandMas. Basically he likes GILFS
Grandmasters I’d Like to Farm
Grand master, the highest difficulty for the nightfall.
another cursed apotheosis veil for the collection
I don't know what you mean, hoarding god roll stat exotics hoping that they'll get a rework one day is totally healthy.
Also you should always have 1 of each exotic in your vault/on your character anyway. Anything’s better than a putrid collections roll
This. I deleted all my stags apparently and now regret it.
I delete all kinds of shit that later I regret deleting. But I've kept a Stag with 32 recovery deep in my vault for like 2 or 3 years. First thing I did this season was masterwork it.
This is why we hoard.
I felt that this season. Got a base roll 70 stag last season, got rid of it after it took up space in my vault for 2 months, hurt me to my core
'Cept it doesn't even have the guaranteed 16 intellect that world drops get.
What sucks is I have a 2, 18, 15, 12, 20, 2 = 69 roll that I've been running since I got back into Destiny. Just learning that people don't like it / think there are many better options.
It's less what people think and more that there actually are better options in every appreciable situation.
When it comes to exotics, the exotic perk is the single most important aspect. Overall stats are a very distant third, behind stat distribution.
Have recommendations to replace it?
Sure. What activity and subclass?
The healing and ability regen from veil can be made up for with seasonal mods like charged with light or elemental wells.
Generic good exotics include the updated stag, transverse steps and (situationally) eye of another world.
Generally PvE. I only really do PvP with IB
for helmets eye of another world, our veritys brow work well for grenade or regeneration builds. mantle of battle harmony pairs well with most builds especially the new agers sceptre.
I'll keep an eye out thanks!
But also, because there’s better options. Most of that stuff can be generated a lot faster simply through mods - you don’t even need exotics. Nezarec’s sin constantly generates ability/super energy as long as you’re using a void weapon for way more up time of your abilities. Using your super to get your abilities back is just really inefficient.
Merciless again? Didn't Xur just have that last week or the one before?
His will is not his own
His heart sweats, and teeth grind
He had it last week and the first week of the season. This is deadass the third time this season he's sold it.
Seriously? I know it's RNG, but it feels oddly coincidental this happens the season Fusion Rifles get heavily pushed.
>His will is not his own
-- some guy, 32 mins ago
The thing is, Merciless is *terrible*. Even this season. It unironically has worse performance than legendary fusion rifles *without* god rolls.
*Do not get Merciless.*
For real? How is that the case?
For starters, it doesn't have a real exotic perk. That's a big issue.
Ultimately it boils down to it not being able to slot in a mod like boss/major spec, and it not receiving the same changes fusion rifle frames received this season (which, while small, *did* buff most frames)
The accelerating charge times don't make up enough damage to do *any* better?
It's accelerating charge time+impact. Unfortunately, it doesn't start to even out until around 5 hits on the same enemy.
On champions, it won't take that many (and you won't be using standard fusion rifles in GMs, let's be clear). Most bosses either don't survive long enough to really care, or will have better options. The *only* boss you could consider using it on is Atheon, but even that's meh. You've got fusion 'nades, Thousand Voices, and Cartesian Coordinate competing heavily.
Damn, that sucks. It's really fallen from grace since D2 Vanilla. Thanks for the info though!
Do get it, don't use it.
Well, it does have one good use. It is probably the best and most consistent option for cheesing Riven. It can do upwards of 800k on her.
What are you talking about? Merciless has just as good dps as Cartesian and null
It has as good DPS as Null Composure without High Impact reserves. Otherwise Null beats it. Cartesian heavily beats both because of a great perk pool, and even with only middling perks (liquid coils), it will barely hedge out Merciless.
Xur’s just feeling nostalgic for D2 week 1 I guess.
RNG is RNG.
Regardless, it doesn’t really matter. If you need shit, just buy his engram.
Well, it's not really for me. I have thousands of shards and all Exotics aside from Eyes and Vex. My brother however, just started recently and doesn't have as many shards to spend and already has Merciless from when he last sold it.
yeah as soon as i opened up his vendor today i was like damn they’re robbing low levels this weekend
Except some dude way back in D1 proved it wasn’t RNG by correctly telling us what Xur was gonna sell many weeks in a row. Xur is planned.
Ah the legendary Megaman
That stirs up a really fond nostalgic memory of waking up early before school the mornings Xur came around looking forward to his posts
It’s still RNG. It’s just all of the dice are rolled ahead of time. Bungie doesn’t choose what Xür is selling. If they did, then he wouldn’t have only sold Gally twice hahaha
They do have SOME control over it, though.
Remember Laser Tag Weekend?
Oh that was on purpose for sure.
EDZ, Winding Cove.
/e moved to Tower, Hangar
yes he did move he is not in EDZ anymore
Shaka, when the walls fell.
Tembra, his arms wide!
Darmak and Jalad at Tanagra!
Picard and Dathon at El-Adrel.
Darmok on the ocean.
Darmok and Jalad at Tanagra.
Darmok and Jalad at Tanagra?
Replying to top comment to say **xur has moved to the tower** due to game crashes
Moved to Tower
Thanks, was wondering WTF was going on when he didn't spawn in four EDZ instances.
Alright D2 vets, what's a must buy this week?
The AR is great for GMs this season
definitely could do better on it though. I have a Fourth Time's the Charm + Rampage that feels solid af. Autoloading is a bit....meh
Auto loading is great for breaking barrier, then switching to special/heavy, and then switching back to the AR if needed
That, and armor piercing and Vorpal stack multiplicitively for a 1.15 x 1.05% bonus to champ barriers. It’s a no brained weapon to grab for the best anti barrier kinetic.
I didn’t realize vorpal does extra damage to barriers. That’s neat.
I think it just does extra damage to Champions, who have barriers. I don't think it's a barrier specific thing.
I have one with Subsistence and Rampage. It's my default Legendary energy AR.
Just picked it up - way better than the POS I had sitting in my vault.
Whispering Slab. With the poor champion mod lineup this season and there only being 3 kinetic bows you'll definitely want one.
The ENTIRE FWC armor set!!!!
Finally been chasing the helmet since the very first faction rally. Now i can unlock the ornament and go full fwc
Anything you ain't got other then that shinobus look best as far as exotics go
that apotheosis veil is a pretty good roll, shame the exotic isn't the best. other two are alright, buy them if you haven't got them in collections.
the seventh seraph carbine will be good for taking down anti barrier shields, but other than that the weapons aren't great.
I pray for a rework on that thing someday. And an ornament lol
That's why I buy all good rolls that Xur has even if I don't think that particular exotic is useful. You never know when a rework is going to make an obscure exotic meta and it's nice to have a good roll sitting in the vault just in case that happens.
I just love me some canopy helmets tbh haha
And my fashion usually leaves room for exotic helmets predominantly. Last time I got real meta use from Veil was… when they released Prestige raid lairs in Y1. The selected weapons were trash, so it was basically down to ability damage on Argos. Grenade, super, grenade, eat orbs, super, grenade, dump a primary mag, eat more orbs, repeat
Wormgod looks pretty good. Although you probably want more str than dis for a melee exotic.
On middle tree sunbreaker you could just run a 1-2 finisher mod on your class item for instant melee refresh (costs 1/6th super), as the super is pretty dang useless on that tree.
You can get a free +30 from Str mod and Radiant Light. Extra disc is always useful for synergistic effects, like roaring flames.
do you know what free means?
OP last seen at the free beer with each paid ticket quene.
Where can I get a str mod that adds 30 strength?
+10 from Strength Mod, +20 from Radiant Light.
some decent but not amazing 60+ legendary armor probably worth grabbing
and as always pretty much worth grabbing whatever exotics you don't have to knock em out.
Honestly, take a look at all of them compared to the rolls you have.
They all have decent rec/int/disc stat totals, which will complement a lot of builds well.
Not necessarily a strong stat total for synergy with the exotic perks, but you can slot a disc mod on Shinobu's and a str mod on Wormgod's to make them both pretty solid.
Again, compare to what you already have first.
The stat rolls on all 3 are really good so I'd buy all of them if you have the shards. And Merciless is pretty darn good too.
Wormgods are amazing for melee builds especially with middle tree hammers and bottom tree striker.
Shinbou Vow is not bad for grenade build, and with certain armor/elemental well mods could helo you get you a super very fast. But it isn't really end game viable.
Apotheosis Vale might be one of the worst Warlock exotics. I'd only buy it to keep in case it gets a huge buff in the future.
Whispering Slab with Killing Wind and Swashbuckler sounds interesting. Kills increase damage, range, handling, and mobility. I have limited kinetic bow options, so I'll pick it up. For Titans without Wormgod's with a base of 66, those are good as long as you have other gear with high strength to make up for it's 2. They might still be disabled though, but good to have when not broken and you feel like punching your way through the strike playlist.
I just started playing and wanted a bow, do you think it is worth getting for a hunter? I haven't been able to find a bow at all
Slab is one of the few primary bows. I’d pick it up just for that.
Totally worth it if you don't have one and have the materials to buy it.
Two weeks ago, we had a Seventh Seraph Carbine that was essentially decent for stripping Barrier Champion shields from a safe distance while also being great for PvP due to it having Rangefinder (no HCR though sadly.) It was pretty much close to my own roll minus it having Stability Masterwork instead of Range on top of Mag perks instead of APR.
This week though? Xur is fuckin' packin'.
This Seventh Seraph Carbine has Chambered Compensator/Fullbore, Armor-Piercing Rounds/High-Caliber Rounds, Auto-Loading Holster and Vorpal Weapon with a Stability Masterwork.
My personal preference is that normally, I would frown upon having Stability as a Masterwork on an AR since I can manage fine with low Stability on mouse and keyboard. In this case though, it's actually perfect since you can choose Fullbore to act like you had a Range masterwork, while you can max the Stability masterwork to get back a decent chunk of the Stability you lose from choosing Fullbore.
Slap Major Spec onto it and you have arguably the best PvE AR this season for dealing with Barrier Champions. For those who may not know: Champions also count as bosses despite being Majors for Vorpal Weapon, so you get a damage boost from that as well. Armor-Piercing Rounds is also a 5% damage increase towards enemies with shields, including Barrier Champions (Guardian shields in PvP don't count for this.)
For PvP? It's really good for shutting down supers if you don't have a Vorpal Fusion/Shotty/Sniper to do it instead. High-Caliber Rounds is also a massive annoyance to those getting hit by it and can easily swing a gunfight in your favor if your opponent can't adjust to being flinched constantly. If you're lucky enough to have a Dead Man's Tale drop with Vorpal Weapon and High Caliber Rounds on it though (yes it's a Scout Rifle, but it's still one of the top weapons for PvP,) not much of a reason to use the Carbine at all unless you have PvP bounties that require AR kills.
With that all said, grab this week's Seventh Seraph Carbine off Xur.
ah fuck yeah always on the lookout for a good SS Carbine.
I just realized, we live in a timeline where it's cheaper buying 2 exotic pieces than buying 1 legendary piece.
THIS SUNDAY! SUNDAY! SUNDAY! (^(and Friday, Saturday, and Monday)) IN THE WINDING COVE, COME ON DOWN TO CRAZY XUR'S DISCOUNT EXOTIC ARMOR EMPORUM! WE'VE GOT SHINOBUS, WE'VE GOT WORMGODS, WE'VE GOT APOTHEOTHISES....APOTHEOSI?...WE'VE GOT WARLOCK HELMETS! AND DON'T FORGET TO STICK AROUND FOR AN AMAZING FEAT OF DRILLING DONE BY THE ONE AND ONLY EXCAVTOR VALUS!!! DON'T YOU DARE MISS IT!!!
For those that don't have one, that crowd pleaser is really good for pvp, pretty close to the roll I've been using
I don’t know much about GLs, would you pick Proximity grenades or high velocity rounds?
And confined launch or smart drift control?
Proximity for pvp for sure, the other is personal choice but i would go for sdc
Is anyone else loading into instances without xur?
[He's in the Tower now due to some issues with game crashing.](https://twitter.com/BungieHelp/status/1441538818025222148?s=19)
Does he have the same wares?
**If** you’ve got the coin.
Good lord dem stat rolls tho
An entire set of FWC armor that can take the war simulator ornaments weakened for back in the day
My transmog days are complete
That Main Ingredient though..
Xur seems to have a thing for Main Ingredient.
Not nearly as good as last week.
Well that's a shame. I accidentally deleted the one from last week earlier today.
Oof. Do people really not lock their weapons/gear?
I did lock it, but a lot of times I lock weapons because of their light level, so when I was cleaning out my inventory talking to my friends, I absent mindedly dismantled it because I thought it was one of the weapons I was using for infusion fuel. It's not a big deal, it's not like I'm blaming anyone but myself for it.
May I offer some advice that might help this from happening in the future... Make sure to "Favorite" it on DIM, while also adding a 'Note" saying something like S-Tier PvP or PvE. Then immediately vault it.
Alot of people dont know about it, its easy to miss.
IMO it’s better than last week’s. It was my go-to roll in PVP before it was sunset. Backup Plan is straight up OP in the right hands.
Those who were fans of Plan C in D1 would like it. If you try to use it like a “normal” fusion rifle, it’s not good.
How would one use this week’s Main Ingredient to maximum effect? Asking for ~~a friend~~ myself.
You want to keep the fusion rifle stashed away until you are ready to voop.
A normal fusion, you have it out and (depending on the archetype) you either semi rush-in like with a shotgun (fast charging type) or bait the player in to get vooped (Main Ingredient/slower charging type).
It takes some getting used to but with this kind you want to keep your primary out and right when the player enters the voop range of Main Ingredient (20-ish meters or so, you get a feel for it after a while), line your reticle on the enemy, whip out the fusion rifle, activating Backup Plan and killing the enemy.
Backup Plan has a quicker charge time than the fastest firing fusion rifle, and I swear also gives increased aim assistance/accuracy. Like, it feels like the gun "sticks" to the enemy more when Backup Plan is active.
[Here's my Plan C montage video I made back in D1.](https://youtu.be/D4Pf5SqhM0A) You can't map people anymore in D2 like you could in D1, and Backup Plan is slightly slower in D2 than the instantaneous-charge in D1, but you get the idea of how to use Backup Plan. 0:29 is a good example, 0:31, 0:58, 1:02, etc.
I also preferred back-up plan on Main Ingredient and am chuffed that we got one the very next week.
Apotheosis Veil from Xur is bugged, I'm 100% sure it's suppose to be +16 for Intellect as a minimum
And you are 100% correct. From the [Season of the Worthy patch notes:](https://www.bungie.net/en/Explore/Detail/News/48827/)
>* Apotheosis Veil
> * This Exotic is now guaranteed to drop with a minimum +16 to Intellect.
That aside, it does have a very good stat distribution. If you really like Apotheosis Veil, might even be worth picking up four of them so you can have one in each element.
Neat, I'm not crazy. Very good point about the drop distribution. Maybe pick it up and hope to get that Intellect boosted by Bungie "fixing" it.
Are there really people who like Apotheosis Veil that much? If so, what am I missing? It just seems like a very below average Warlock exotic to me. I don't think I've worn one since D1 and I only wore it then because it was the first piece of exotic armour that I got to drop.
it just works honestly, you don’t need a build but you could make a solid one around it getting abilities and health feels good and you get value without having to do anything extra, and helping the team is cool too
Yeah it's kinda just one of those to use if you don't have an exotic or anything better. I used to use it until I got eye of another world and prefer it although it's a much more selfish pick
Pretty good Shinobus vow!
That seventh seraph lookin pretty good
Alright there has got to be no way all of those weapons are all randomly rolled.
Those rolls are seemingly too usable to be random based off my limited experience of world drop weapons,
APR/ALH/Vorpal- SS Carbine in a season with only AR for Antibarrier on the artifact
Under Pressure/Kill Clip- Last Perdition
Accelerated Coil/Moving Target/Backup Plan- Main Ingredient (sure last week was even better but this ain't too bad)
Proximity (albeit not necessary)/Killing Wind/QD- Crowd Pleaser
Last Perdition is a pretty underrated pulse rifle imo. The scopes can be kinda trash, but 390s feel great to shoot and kill clip tears people open.
Kinda messed up in my opinion that he's selling the same gun as last week 😔
Something something not his own.
I just want Gambit Prime armor. Is that really too much to ask?
I wish he’d sell the ornaments with special armor like this. Simulator helmet ornament is the only one I’m missing from the set. Same with the weapons.
Soon! It is in the pool, I believe.
Xur is at tower
Nice Wormgods, Apotheosis is nice too but I don't think I've ever used that exotic and I'm a Warlock main!
Eh, I'd rather have strength over discipline on a melee exotic
If it isn't Arc already, you could change it to that and slap Momentum Transfer mod on it to make your grenades charge your melees faster. That, or make it Stasis and throw a Melee Kickstart mod on it.
also if it's arc throw radiant light on there
I didn't have a good shinobu's so that's nice!
Every time i fire the last perdition i get closer and closer to feeling my bygones, then the dream ends.
Has xur ever sold stompess
Any chance the bot could be updated to include the perk rolls on the guns?
Apotheosis Veil is such a lame exotic
Them Wormgods though.
Only 2 Strength though, kinda weird.
meh if youre using mini hammer strength doesnt really matter
It does if you don’t manage to pick it up for whatever reason, or if you’re running any other subclass at all.
Yes, if you use an Exotic weapon slot to recharge your melee, Strength doesn't matter.
Tbh titan is kind of ironically the class where strength is one of the most useless stats unless you're trying to run melting point or shield bash.
If you're trying to use shoulder charge or missile then you might as well use skull fort which recharges them instantly and throwing hammer recharges when you pick it up and they've buff the pick up time to 10 seconds so you pretty much have all the time in the world to kill the major that survived the throwing hammer.
And if you're running the Thermoclastic Strike mod on your butt-towel you'll get it back instantly on stun while you watch helplessly as your other hammer explodes cuz it won't let you pick it up.
Fortunately it's possible to add 70 str using mods, so it's not the biggest hit against it's functionality.
Exactly. Personally, whenever I'm looking at armor favoring similar stat distros, I usually pick the one that gets there with the least energy investment. So for my hunter, where it's pretty much always Mob, Rec, Int, I'll favor high Intellect and/or Recovery over Mobility, because Mobility mods are cheaper, and that gives me more flexibility in the other slots than prioritizing Mobility first. Strength is the same as mobility in my example, because that's also a cheaper stat boost.
I love the roll, since like you said you can add 70 str with mods, and with the throwing hammer you can get it back which is what I've used pretty much every time I've used wormgod
Are they still disabled because of the throwing hammer thing?
Lol that the same weapon as last week?
That isn’t the armor the app said he’d be selling. Strange. Also he’s on the Winding Cove
It is not strange, he's been resetting armor twice since he started selling armor: once on Tuesday, and another time on Friday.
Edit: in other words - stop trying to predict which armor set Xur is going to sell on Friday based on the companion app cause it always changes once Friday reset rolls around!
??? I've been playing since he started selling armor and this is the first i've heard of him resetting armor twice?
Any of the gear worth getting for a noob titan?
Wormgod caress is so good for melee builds that it gets disabled all the time lol definitely worth picking up if you don't have it.
If you can, pick 'em all up, for collection purposes (even the Hunter and Warlock ones). That said, the Wormgod does have some great stat distribution. 2 Str on a melee exotic kinda sucks, but it doesn't require powered melee to proc and usually it's not hard to quickly get your melee back anyway.
Is it possible to redeem your cipher before buying Xur's 97 legendary shard engram?
No, it'll use the shards first, then cipher.
That sucks. Trying to save my shards.
Really does for new players
Xur isnt there for me. Hoping it's not cause I started the New Light campaign out of curiosity. I finished the main bit of it but then abandoned the follow up quests such as do a crucible match/strike/gambit.
he moved to tower for some reason
He's at the winding cove (EDZ)
Edit: sry playing on German, mixed up the English location names...
That's just next to Rheasilvia (Nessus) right?
I believe it's next to Riis Reborn (Moon) actually.
no no I was certain it was at Artifacts Edge (The Tower)
awful, just awful everything.
The apotheosis veil is a good roll i hops it gets abit of a buff or something when void 3.0 comes out but that seventh serapth carbine be looking nice
