DeeForestBosa

Lets fucking go.

321Swish

Hide your chains. LFG.

iisvtee

Does he have to actually participate to avoid the fine?

badDuckThrowPillow

Nope. Just show up.

PurifyWeirdSoul

"I'm just here so I won't get fined"

Pit_of_Death

Deebo "Marshawn Lynch" Samuel.

CoopThereItIs

Nah. And he'd lose $100K for not going to three days of work. Probably just going to hang out, unfortunately. He has the same agent as AJ Brown so we gotta at least understand part of how he sees the situation. Would have been nice if the Eagles didn't trade a 1st for Brown and give him a hundred million dollars...

PronouncedEye-gore

Their deal was not a loss for us. It was way under his previous talking price. And the gtd money wasn't even that crazy.

DillDoughzer

*rubs nipples with intent

DingleMcCringleTurd

Let me know when they are as hard as diamonds, and I'll bring some glass that needs to be cut.

tforce80

Well no shit. How else do you rub nipples? /s

JoseJimenezAstronaut

Sometimes I like to wear a silk shirt on a windy day, for the unpredictability.

burnsrado

As an Angels/49ers fan, I need all the good news I can get. And this is good news.

ThanosIsDoomfist

Im an Angel/9er too. You guys.. probably dont wanna hear what basketball team I like tho...

burnsrado

Let’s hear it

ThanosIsDoomfist

Im a Celtics fan man 😔

easywin626

Prob won’t do the drills tho but least it’s progress

ratchkae

Oh yeah it’s all coming together

notschneider

Hasn’t the front office always done their deals around this time? Looks like there was nothing to worry about

GR00VY_Q

It looks that way which makes that 2-3 weeks of him leaving potentially span so damn silly, I think us fans got carried away and deebo didn’t help his case either. The FO probably told him this from the get go

Revolutionary-Cup-31

Deebo didn't do or say anything except stay quiet and make moves on social media "scrubbing" according to his agents advice.

meTspysball

Deebo’s quoted as requesting a trade. It would be pretty wild if the reporter just straight up lied and said Deebo told him something that Deebo did not say.

CoopThereItIs

From Deebo's perspective, he would almost be stupid to not request a trade. Deebo's agent is Tory Dandy. The same agent for AJ Brown, who requested a trade. Then the Eagles paid a 1st round pick for him and gave him a hundred million dollars. If I'm Deebo, I'm at least going to my agent and saying "how do we do that for me?"

Revolutionary-Cup-31

Exactly.

Revolutionary-Cup-31

A trade request that was made under the advice of his agent.

meTspysball

Yeah, but he didn’t just scrub his socials, he actually requested a trade.

Revolutionary-Cup-31

>level 3 > >Revolutionary-Cup-31 · 3 hr. ago 49ers > >A trade request that was made under the advice of his agent. level 3 Revolutionary-Cup-31 · 3 hr. ago 49ers A trade request that was made under the advice of his agent.

karavasis

He also completely hosed the fans that attended meet and greet at NFL Draft which IMO is pretty big slap in the face to the most Faithful. Like what he really gain from that

Revolutionary-Cup-31

I am clueless about this. Where was that meet and greet supposed to take place? Was he previously scheduled to appear?

karavasis

At NFL draft this past April. They waited he showed up late and then left early

trebek321

Yeah Kittle signed his in august, Warner in late July, we don’t seem to do significant extensions/new contracts around the draft. You either get it right when the season ends (Armstead in March, Jimmy in February) or you wait until training camp/preseason.

dakoellis

This doesn't actually mean anything. he doesn't have to participate just has to show up to avoid a fine

FS_Slacker

It means he doesn’t hate the team and that at that his team is not playing hardball and cutting off his connection.

dakoellis

no it doesn't. all it means is he doesn't want to lose $90k

FS_Slacker

If you’re leveraging for $20+ mill per year, $90k is nothing. If he trips and tears his ACL, he risks everything.

dakoellis

you think he's more likely to trip and tear his ACL watching a practice as opposed to going to a Warrior game?

FS_Slacker

One is his choice to go to the game. The other is a workplace dispute in which he's trying to get a higher contract. I don't think you know how holdouts work. But him showing up at training camp shows that he has a good faith agreement that the deal will get worked out.

dakoellis

Holdouts are different now with the new CBA. Players would hold out and when the contract dispute got resolved, the team would rescind the fines. That's not allowed anymore since the new CBA, and so players are much more likely to "hold-in" now, where they show up to avoid the fine, but don't participate in any of the activities. I do think they are working towards a resolution, but him showing up to a mandatory team activity has nothing to do with that feeling

FS_Slacker

Oh ok. Did you explain that to DK Metcalf?

dakoellis

don't need to. All I said is they are more likely to hold in to avoid the finaes. Maybe he doesn't care about the 90k and deebo does. There's so many factors and all I said is deebo showing up doesn't mean anything. If he ends up practicing that means a whole hell of a lot.

hadinger

Fuck yes

kingkron52

Hell yeah brother

valarpizzaeris

Cheers from the Empire

LebronJaims

Nick bosa and deebo were drafted the same year. They’re both stars. But deebo gets an extension first, because he was drafted in the 2nd round instead of the 1st (no 5th year option)? That kind of doesn’t make logical sense, right? A player is rewarded for being drafted later?

StOnEy333

1st round picks are considered more valuable. If they end up being a superstar, it gives the team insurance for the 5th year. It’s a 4 year max for everybody else. That was collectively bargained between the owners and the players union.

LebronJaims

But when it comes time for an extension, they prioritize the 4 year deal guys over the 5 year deals, right?

JoseJimenezAstronaut

Yes, but presumably the 4 year guys are less likely to earn an extension.

PurifyWeirdSoul

> A player is rewarded for being drafted later? Bosa received a [4 year/33M contract with 22M signing bonus](https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/san-francisco-49ers/nick-bosa-29037/) while Deebo received a [4 year/7M contract with 3.6M signing bonus](https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/san-francisco-49ers/deebo-samuel-29071). Bosa received a 5th year extension of nearly 18M. It depends on what you consider a reward, but you could argue that Bosa has received more rewards, more frequently, than Deebo has as a 2nd rounder.

LebronJaims

As of now yeah, but I meant when it comes extension time

mm825

> That kind of doesn’t make logical sense, right? A player is rewarded for being drafted later? No. It makes sense to sign the higher priced player first so you can cap the amount you pay the lesser player. They're both eligible for an extension right now. Bosa signs first then the niners will offer 80-90% of that deal to Deebo and there won't be as much of a negotiation

whitea44

Well, duh. He’s going to get paid. He knows it, the Niners know it. We just need Jimmy off the books.

liteshadow4

We actually don’t

PhillipMcKrak

I’d say it depends, what if they want to front load the cap hit?

zk86

Front loading would be distributed over the remaining years and his salary for the first year would likely be about what the 4th year rookie contract salary would’ve been. That also wouldn’t be till 2023 I believe. It’s hard to find info if an extension can overwrite the current year or hits the following, but either way the first year won’t be as big of a hit as the following years. Jimmy being there really has no effect, just doesn’t allow us to sign a different free agent, like say, a center.. which we kinda need right now..

mm825

> We just need Jimmy off the books. And nobody knows when or if that's going to happen

HavocGamer49

WWWWW

levinalx101

**YAY**

Dokkan_sempai_15

LETS FUCKING GOOOOOOOO

Revolutionary-Cup-31

Fuck yeah!

Internal_Focus_8358

Thank you Deebo

Kingballa06

Yeah buddy

Due-Entrepreneur-641

Sensational

Yatattar

Yesssss!

CalvinYHobbes

Whoa!

ToePunchKick

Front office did the right thing: slowed everything way down, and let the situation cool down.

lolabuster

Fucking a right

huskjay

Sit-in

BigZoowop

Meanwhile DK Metcalf is holding out and not present at Toots mandatory minicamp 😁 S/O Deebo

ayyyee9

Lets go!!!!

ExtraLucky13

No leverage...of course he's going to be there.

PronouncedEye-gore

Deebo Animosity levels ... dropping below Danger Threshold. Fan Feel Reads ... Cautiously Optimistic Preparing LFG Drive for test fire... Systems Ready.

JimmyTadeski

Bet

mm825

And that's how you deal with a trade request

Professional_Steak23

Much ado about nothing

AnAppariti0n

He hasn’t signed a deal but on the flip side, there is no way he would show up if he did not feel he would be here next year.

hahdbdidndkdi

He really has no leverage still being on a rookie deal. If he doesn't show up he gets fined, and if he refuses to play it will just delay his time until he's a FA.

karavasis

I hope your right but I’m a grey cloud so could be he just doesn’t want any fines taken away from the measly 4 mil he’s set to receive this yr for riding the bench with ‘hamstring’

giantsninerswarriors

This is a good faith sign from him that he’s willing to work with the FO on a contract. Now the FO needs to do their job and get something done.
