Really really really really really really really hope the Bengals win.
It's not just because I hate the rams, but also because I hate teams that try to buy championships.
\*Caution, NFL Conspiracy Activated\*
I just don't see the NFL allowing the Rams to lose this one even though I would love to see the Bengals shred them into a tasty mutton dish.
\-The NFL is desperate to build the fan base in LA with the Rams (sorry Chargers, you should have found a way to build something in San Diego).
\-Losing the Super Bowl in their brand new SOTA stadium would be a devastating blow to the above theory, so expect NFL officiating or some other game affecting tom foolery.
\-Stafford story of many season struggling quality QB in Detroit winning one with new team makes better feel good theater than Burrow smoking a cigar.
\-Bengals will get their chance again with their young talent and needful fan base. Just not this game.
Honestly, I hope I am too. Nothing would make me happier than a clean game. My son doesn't buy into my "theories" and frankly, who am I to shatter his beliefs of fair play over dollars.
Not a theory I am happy to be proved correct on - it's so infuriating. After the game, my eighteen year old who has watched NFL all his life grudgingly admitted I was right and said he's just gonna watch college football next year. Screw the NFL for doing shit like this.
>\-The NFL is desperate to build the fan base in LA with the Rams (sorry Chargers, you should have found a way to build something in San Diego).
I've lived in LA. Trust me when I say that winning the Super Bowl will not help build the fan base. LA is just different from the rest of the country. They just don't care. I've gone to bars in LA on Sunday afternoons where none of the TVs had football on. They just don't care.

See above.

Most to the country seems to be rooting for the Bengals. They're the biggest underdog story that the NFL has had in a while. 31 years of losing up to and including last year. That's a better story than Stafford joining a bought dream team and finally winning.

>\-Bengals will get their chance again with their young talent and needful fan base. Just not this game.
Ask Dan Marino about second chances.
Yeah that Dan Marino comp is spot on, made his only Super Bowl his 2nd year in the league and loses to Joe, never to even get back to the dance. Burrow should see this as much of an opportunity to take one home now as if he was finally getting to his first dance in his 13th season.
I'm a Sacramento native and I have believed in these type of conspiracy theories since 2002. Well, Donaghy pretty much confirmed its not all conspiracy theories.
Sports leagues are businesses, their goal is to make money and they don't care about fans whatsoever
Follow the money and it's easy to see who wins big games
I want to play the devils advocate here, and not because I'm a Bengals fan, but because I agree while heartedly with your comment and OP's; if you really think about it, what would benefit the NFL more? One city winning and gaining that big market, or the underdog, often clowned on, "cursed" team and fanbase, winning the goddamn super bowl absolutely out of nowhere. If that doesn't give every single fan base around the league (especially ones that have never been to/won a super bowl) the hope that if even the BENGALS can do it, maybe their team can too?! If that doesn't build hype around the entire country and restored hope and energy from fans all around the league, then I don't know what does. So after thinking about this long and hard, I think this scenario actually profits/benefits them more than one of the richest franchises in the league essentially "buying" a super bowl in ways that their teams couldn't dream of.
I feel you. I immediately texted my group chat “Rog made the call to the refs” when they called that inexplicable taunting call against Azeez on the Rams’ first play to jumpstart their quick TD drive after we went up 10.
Also — not that it would’ve matter much at all given how we couldn’t get off the field on 3rd down all game and how badly we managed on O — but the LA had at least 3 uncalled delay of games in the 4th Q while we got dinged a couple times , including the drive dooming delay on our penultimate possession.
That said, the whole team was panicking and our OL imploding at that point so I don’t think having 2nd and 10 instead of 15 would’ve ultimately made much of a difference at all and the refs by no means cost us the game — all we had to do was not epically f up the crucial 2nd and 1 sequence.
Plus, the refs already gifted LA one SB berth on the no PI call vs the saints 3 years ago…
Not watching. 49ers should be there. After the three straight road wins it just felt like destiny. Storybook ending ruined. After 26 years, I should be used to it, but I'm not.
I know in reality this probably doesn’t mean much to the Niners but by Rams winning the SB, does it put more pressure on the Kyle/Niners organization to win at all costs?? Maybe Rams winning could be the better outcome?
I am more pumped for this year than any other, as I always watch the Super Bowl (It's on the BBC in the UK) but this season I’ve watched every minute of every game so this could only feel more exciting if we were in it. But whatever, can’t bloody wait. Taken tomorrow off work so I can watch it live, as usual… and the Bengals will be getting plenty of support from here.

#LET'S GO BURROW!
Really really really really really really really hope the Bengals win. It's not just because I hate the rams, but also because I hate teams that try to buy championships.
Also if bengals win rams might have superbowl hangover next season, and it will be easier for Niners to win the NFCW
So you hate LA teams?
If anyone is rooting for the Rams they should be banned.
…banned from life.

I hope you’re wrong, but I can’t help but to have the same thoughts in the back of my mind.
Honestly, I hope I am too. Nothing would make me happier than a clean game. My son doesn't buy into my "theories" and frankly, who am I to shatter his beliefs of fair play over dollars.
Well, you were right, they refs literally had to get them to the 1 yard line for them to get their last touchdown
Not a theory I am happy to be proved correct on - it's so infuriating. After the game, my eighteen year old who has watched NFL all his life grudgingly admitted I was right and said he's just gonna watch college football next year. Screw the NFL for doing shit like this.
Me 3

Considering their long-term future, they have to win this game now or they'll never be taken seriously by LA.

The Lakers BS with the Kings proved us to be right.
Can confirm. Also from Sac.

💯 The NFL is entertainment, they have no requirement to be fair or ethical
Only we can beat them tigers in the SB!
#GO BENGALS That's all I have to say about that.
I just found out yesterday that Burrow was a kid cudi fan….now I’m going to ~~love~~ root for him even harder.
Same, kid cudi has been my favorite since his ep. Gives me a good reason to root for him
Lol why does that not surprise me...
A famous man once said, *”Go Tigahs!“*
I’m literally so bitter I’m not watching it. I’m gonna do some hobby work lol
I have it on in the background but I’ll probably only watch the end if it’s close or if the Bengals are up.
#FUCK THE LAMBS
Will the rams stadium be treating it as a home game with all the “whooooseee house” shit or will it be kinda neutral?
That's assuming Rams "fans" compose more than 35% of the stadium's capacity lol Gotta pipe in that crowd noise lmao
Lol
This hurts
Go Bengals! I'm from LA and can't stand all the Lambs bandwagon fans 🙄
Beng Beng Bengals Gang
Don't think I'm gonna watch. Still feeling very deflated by the loss. It'll be the first Superbowl I've missed in a long time.
Not even the halftime show?
Maybe that.
jeez did you skip out on 2011 and 2013 SBs too?
I know all the analysts say it’s gonna be close but I really and feeling a Bengals BLOW OUT! 🐅
I think the opposite. Rams by 3+ scores. Sure hope I'm wrong though
Not watching today's game. I'm still too butthurt. Usually never do if we lose in the conference championship. But let's go Bengals.
Not watching. 49ers should be there. After the three straight road wins it just felt like destiny. Storybook ending ruined. After 26 years, I should be used to it, but I'm not.
“49ers should be there” yeah, tell that to the mediocre QB we have
Just a reminder that we have a better record against the Bengals and Rams this year than they do against us. 49ers best team in the NFL confirmed.
I'm hoping the Rams lose on a Kupp fumble after he gets blown up legally Getting real tired of the media fellating the guy because he's a white WR
Totally agree, media make him sound like a cross between Randy Moss and Jerry Rice when he's just a tall Wes Welker.
Yup
at least if the rams win, the curse of NFCW teams losing the super bowl will be lifted
49ers Twitter is so toxic right now.
I know in reality this probably doesn’t mean much to the Niners but by Rams winning the SB, does it put more pressure on the Kyle/Niners organization to win at all costs?? Maybe Rams winning could be the better outcome?
STFU lol
Haha…I’m rooting hard for the Bengals but I’m just saying maybe it can have another reason to go all in to win
Yeah, there's normally no pressure to win /s
Hope Chase has 200+ yards
I want to see the Burrow/Chase connection just go off. Also F the Rams and everything having to do with LA.
Bengals all day and rooting for The Recipe during the halftime show
Kitty goes meow!
Sean McVay looks like an actor on a daytime soap opera
Lol
My Niners didn't make it. So I'm just a neutral in this.
Will be rooting for the Bengals from the UK, my friend is a Bengals fan so borrowing a jersey from him! WHO DEY
Bet on Chase scoring first TD and bengals to win it all, lets gooooo
Yuck im in LA and if the Rams win there are going to be fireworks everywhere like its fucking 4th of July, Cmon Bengals win it and shut this place up
NBC propping up Aaron Donald.
Unless the Rams are getting killed all the way through the game, might just tune in to halftime and towards the end! Still kinda hurt.

Let's GO RAMS! I hope we get to play the Rams in the first game of the regular season. Rams v 49ers to kickoff football would be great.
I have a feeling this is gonna be a very unpopular opinion in here today
