It’s hard to say. Level 10 powers are so insane that some say you can’t actually kill some of the anti. The only ones that have died not willingly has been ravnos. And even that. With chimistry 10 maybe thats what he wants you to believe.
* Lucifer, not that he particularly cares about them
* Likely the five Earthbound Archdukes, as well; Kupala tears the Eldest a new one in one of the Gehenna scenarios and he's less potent than the Pentad
* Lilith, if she actually squares up
* Any of the three heads of the Triatic Wyrm
* Any of the Neverborn, as long as they've got the home turf advantage
* Any of the Yama Kings, *especially* if they've got home-turf advantage
* Any of the Aeons, if it's within their purview of permitted action; the weakest one has archmage stats
* I'd like to say the Celestines, but Mithras beat one up and stole "being immune to the sun" from it, so... the track record isn't great
Wait that last one, Mithras? as in the prince of London - Mithras?
ya the one that got his ass handed to him by a pack of black spiral dancers
As I recall he handed their asses to them, by himself. Regardless that’s a very impressive feat, even if he likely used his big brain mind powers to dominate them or activate Rage or something
Yeah an then a group of Sabbat came a long and them some second inquisition fellas. All and all it wasn't a great day for him
As a venture fan it makes me sad that our elders are the ones that get aced time and again. Like venture himself is practically confirmed by multiple sources to be either dead or diablierized. Sadge
I’m convinced the Ventrue are one of the best clans at faking their deaths. There’s a ton things that don’t add up or are super vague in a lot of elder Ventrue deaths. I also don’t trust the authors that said Ventrue himself is dead. Writers lie (a line I liked from Chuck/God in Supernatural).
I've been playing in this alternate history game in which Marcus Vitel gets replaced by a particularly zealous roman legionnaire trying to awaken Ventru. It's been a blast, and stopping it has been the focus of an entire campaign. We used a 500 year old Malkavian that for some reason was dedicated to the cause and a backpack nuke to slow down his awakening, and bury him under a pile of rubble.
I'd Haight to say it, but...
Except he is an ashtray ...
And a Street Fighter!
Osiris, maybe (whatever he is).
Ebony Dragon and Scarlet Queen.
An Oracle, maybe?
Well, the one antediluvian encounter we had in recent days took multiple kindreds, a bunch of werewolf pacs, a couple of ancient Wan Kuei, some Mages and a magical sunlight laser satellite to take him down…
So, the second generation never reached the age of the antediluvian. Cain might be not even a person. So, what remains?
Some powerful spirits and Demons, probably. Kupala, I guess.
Really ancient Wan Kuei maybe, Lilith if she actually exists…
Keep in mind, creatures like Antediluvians are by far out of the range of any game mechanic. Their powers are often just “plot device” by with it is meant that they can do basically all they want and what ever fits the story.
Yet, some younger vampires are known for being able to diablerise an antediluvian… allegedly…
Methuselah, and Mithras took over Monty Coven's mind..
high level mages
Or a bunch of mid-tier ones with prep time, lol
topic says 1 on 1
I was referring to the Week of Nightmares.
pretty sure there was no prep time also I doubt they won against someone that can literally rewrite the rules of reality
The Technocracy didn't exactly pull orbital mirrors, spirit nukes, and a team of meteorologist Void Engineer jet pilots out of its collective ass at the last moment.
And [Ravnos] is the *most* dead Antediluvian. *Gehenna* says it in its rundown of where each of them are, V5 says it in the Week of Nightmares loresheet, and all the Ravnos went into the same mega-frenzy that *Gehenna* explicates happens whenever any antediluvian dies.
As for me, that's the most badass feat the Technocracy has done in recent times, considering that usually they're just a bunch of boring.
The whole play-by-play of the Week of Nightmares in *Time of Thin Blood* is one of my favorite bits of fiction in the World of Darkness, period. I'd kill for a short film of it.
Any of the Egyptian Pantheon that isn't a Cainite
(Anubis, Osiris, Horus...)
An adept mage.
Seriously. You could summon sunlight with prime or force at 2 or 3. Imagine someone stronger
The technocratic union had to jump a few hoops to kill the Ravnos antediluvian (Xanexapathy or wutevs), but they're fairly restricted in their methods
A Celestial Chorister tho? "MAY THE POWA OV DA WUN SMITE YE". Verbena might be able as well. Or really any Hermetic Mage
So long as they're smart enough to avoid getting double tapped, that is
A particularly wyrd Changeling might get the job done too. But that's if they cared.
Worth bearing in mind that Ravnos kept fighting nonstop for several days. As in, during the day too. Meaning that particular Antideluvian withstood days plural of direct sunlight.
Even if so
Do you believe there's no other means to dispose of an antediluvian for someone who can quite literally bend the fabric of reality however they see fit?
Someone high enough in correspondence could feasibly teleport em straight to the sun. It's just 1 human-sized package
Banish him to the umbra?
You say it's that, but Ennoia has merged with the planet, Tzimisce is a giant lovecraftian horror who has spread bits of his flesh and consciousness throughout many bodies/forms essentially creating hivemind horcruxes, Malkav has ascended beyond his humanoid form and become a hivemind, Ravnos's vitae was sentient and continued moving around after his destruction, Lasombra just outright blocks the sun out with shadows which presumably has some scary 10 dot obtenebration mystic plot device capability that stops you from just yeeting him at the sun, Arikel will overwhelm most sentient enemies like mages with an unrelenting wall of Presence and Auspex, Tremere is a former archmage with over a thousand years of rituals and preparation to preserve his existence, et cetera.
Tzimisce has some cleanup work after (if voldemort can be killed, so can tzimisce's gibs with levels in correspondence to locate them, and whatever you'd need to destroy them)
Malkav & Ennoia aren't even a singular beings anymore. If Malkav manifested at all, it likely wouldn't be a 1v1. And that's if a Dreamspeaker doesn't follow that trail into the Gauntlet or wherever his essence may remain.
And Ennoia can earthquake all she wants, but assuming it's not just "The Earth Decides to Kill a Dude Out of Spite", a mage could feasibly work out a way to pull her up out and deal with her in time.
Arikel could try to do so, but mind / prime could realistically work to counter the effects of such disciplines (and iirc, it only costs a willpower point to resist that for a scene anyway?)
Tremere would honestly be the most dangerous given the knowledge of how Magick used to work (things changed iirc, which is why tremere, goratrix & the lot went to vamps to replace their life potions or smth), but still nowhere close to being able to actually "do" anything about it. And though static magic may be cool, it ain't as powerful as dynamic.
Lasombra, with a power literally known as "The ST is done playing games" (I thought we weren't involving God, lol jk), can make it dark outside, or avoid the sun. Cool.
Lets take a field trip to the umbra real quick. Let ya cool down for a century and starve back to sleepies or smth. We'll see
Tl;dr: My point is, similar to the antediluvians, mages have varying degrees of "plot device" ability, only difference is that they're by default, and far less restricted than disciplines in terms of their scope. At 4-5 in most any sphere, the game is most likely over
Euthanatos baby. Play him like a marionette before you wither him to dust.
Seriously. Summon sunlight with prime or force at 2 or 3. - by rules, no, you need at least 20 agraveted dmg on the antediluvian, more if they have fortitude
ravnos for example fight at daylight
There is literally no one who could take on Caine one-on-one. Or even fifty-to-one. Anyone who strikes him in any way receives seven fold damage in return. Period. Whatever any Mage does, it'll just affect them seven times more.
The question isn't about who could fight caine but who could fight an antidiluvian
That doesn't mean he can do much to a being that doesn't attack him... Also, I'm pretty sure because God laid the curse, he can freely ignore it.
Among cainites, I'd say: Ur-Shulgi, Nergal, Lilith, Vasilisa, Moloch, Mithras (maybe), The Dracon, Mary The Black and Azaneal if he succeeded on becoming decani (stretching a little by mentioning them).
Any 6th Rank Ahroun can do a lot
Any mage with enough Correspondence can send the Antediluvian to the Sun.
Which might not work on some of them since Tzimize can reform his body from scratch
A little extra programing of the spell and we can put that on endless repeat.
It will be coincidental sense he is off planet.
You'll have to whipe out the entire clan and one with vissitude (and even then it's not explained if it even requires that to work)
A Changeling with the True Name could change the Antediluvian to a 14th or 13th gen. I don't think there is enough to bring to a mortal again.
