If you're asking for a source with poor children being provided food for free. I got free lunch and every Friday I brought home a grocery bag with enough food for me to eat 3 meals on the weekends. It's the National School Lunch program it provides almost 60% of all American students with free lunch.

There has been a lot of reform to what the menu should consist of in the last decade, Michelle Obama among others was focused on this. My wife runs the kitchen for a special needs school but all of the guidelines about the food are the same as every other school in the district.
We have a very high percentage of free lunch students in our area, but we don't quite qualify for everyone getting free lunch. The craziest part is that it's up to the kitchen manager who only makes $16 an hour to collect on unpaid school debt, or lose raises and promotions because of bad budget performance. There are a million things wrong with school lunch programs in the US, but the food itself isn't the worst part of it at all.

She actually encouraged introducing fresh veggies and removed soda machines from campuses, etc. I was in school 20 years ago and even then it was processed foods that were just rewarmed and served. We only had fresh veggies on the salad bar. Everything else was out of a can or a frozen box. School lunches in the majority of our public schools are big business for the companies that make them for our school children and a lot of times for our prison systems, too. This didn't suddenly happen 12 years ago.

The US is known for our tasty but unhealthy junk food. Unhealthy fats were removed from food, everyone realized food didn't taste good anymore, so sugar began being dumped into everything to bring back flavor. The sugar eventually took the form of corn syrup because it was cheap and readily available. This has affected all processed foods in America, including our kid's lunches...well before Obama or even Bush.

well honestly, food was actually edible before. i genuinely had meals that i could look forward to eating. not having appetizing meals to eat really contributed to my anorexia in middle school & high school. it became a norm for people to get fast food or just eat chips and snacks during lunch because everything was inedible.

Yea, while I don't agree with OP, this guy sounds ignorant as all get out as to why China sucks. He was right in like 2 talking points, you can criticize the government without disappearing, and alot of Chinese citizens are really poor and only T1 cities do well.

Yeah, thatās the problem with America. The disparity between rich and poor is massive, and relatively few people get to live the kind of American dream lifestyle vs living in poverty. Even if you are doing ok youāre literally one hospital bill away from being in poverty for most of your life.
